Silver Parasol Games was the first game studio hired by Fazbear Entertainment to create The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience until strange events occurred and the project was taken to another studio.
During some phase of development, a play tester named Jeremy began to act erratically. He seemed to be relatively unwell and disturbed, often complaining of nightmares and eventually getting to a point where nothing would affect him. His behavior became so bad that the studio began to write him up for minor things in order to create a paper trail and/or discredit anything he might have to reveal about the development cycle of the game. It is then heavily implied that Jeremy later used a guillotine paper slicer to cut off his own face, presumably dying after spending a little more time in the VR space.
Jeremy's death prompted a lawsuit against the game studio which was then bought out by some other company, potentially an attempt by Fazbear Entertainment to discredit the studio and shut it down. At some point, the emails between Fazbear Entertainment and \"a certain indie developer\" were leaked to the development team, revealing the true motives behind Fazbear Entertainment's push for a VR game. During this time, Tape Girl was tasked with finishing Jeremy's work on the game. This is where she started seeing Glitchtrap in the game. The new character made her curious as it didn't behave like other characters in the game and almost seemed to have some sentience behind it. Over the coming days, Tape Girl worked to isolate and delete this anomaly, eventually referring to it as malicious. This code would eventually merge with the logs Tape Girl had been hiding in a protected area of the game, making it impossible to delete.

While there have been no official TimeSplitters games since then, there have been various Easter eggs and references in games developed by the former creators. TimeSplitters Rewind was a fan-made volunteer project to recreate the games using the CRYENGINE and was officially supported by Crytek. A 4K port of TimeSplitters 2 was also recently found hidden in Homefront: The Revolution but was a prototype that featured many glitches and bugs.
Free Radical Design was formed in 1999 and developed the TimeSplitters series and Second Sight. Following the disappointing reception of Haze and a cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront project, the studio went bankrupt in 2008.

A handful of locations do have vending machines but we suggest you bring your own food and drinks with you. There have been plenty of great FPS games over the years, particularly since the turn of the century. While the likes of Battlefield and Call of Duty have managed to remain relevant though, others have slowly faded away into obscurity over time. Despite this, however, many of these classic franchises still a hold a special place in the hearts and minds of those who played them in their younger days and TimeSplitters is definitely no different in this regard.
Thanks to their stylized visuals and fast-paced gameplay, the TimeSplitters games were incredibly popular with fans and critics alike. A fourth game was also in development at one point but was cancelled after developer Free Radical Design went into administration in 2007. Now, almost a decade and a half later, some of the team who worked on the ill-fated TimeSplitters 4 are finally ready to finish what they started all those years ago.
In a somewhat surprising announcement, publisher Deep Silver revealed that Free Radical Design will be reforming as an internal Deep Silver studio and is set to be headed up by two of the original TimeSplitters team. Not just any two either, but the series' co-creators, Steve Ellis and David Doak, who also directed two of the original TimeSplitters trilogy. Development on the new game hasn't begun just yet, but Deep Silver has vowed to update fans once there's more news to share about the project.
This isn't the first time that the publisher has helped revive a long-dormant franchise, though, and some fans will be hoping that things go a little better this time around. Deep Silver previously worked with Japanese developer YsNet during the production of Shenmue 3 and the critical reception to the sequel was mixed. With the new incarnation of Free Radical Design being an internal studio, however, Deep Silver executives will perhaps be hoping to have a bit more control over the next TimeSplitters game to ensure that it meets both their expectations as well as those of the franchise's fanbase.

What makes it interesting, and potentially game-changing if things go well, is that Sony plans to actually handle production of its own projects. It is launching an actual studio, not just an office to farm out IP.
In this climate, a production studio which has full access to the PlayStation IP library and the ability to draw on the experience and know-how of Sony Pictures ought to be worth its weight in gold. It doesn't hurt that this escalation of the competition between streaming services is coming at a point in media history where 'geeky' properties -- fantasy, superhero, science-fiction and so on -- are more mainstream than ever before, making that PlayStation library all the more appealing to would-be buyers.
Reading between the lines of post-mortem type interviews and conversations with people who have worked on these adaptations, a big part of the problem has always been the need for these adaptations to appeal not just to their target audience (whom the creators know are perfectly savvy in the shorthand and culture of videogames), but to the much, much older and far less game-aware studio bosses and executives who get to sign off on final decisions.
